OASIS is a grant-funded transportation program that allows veterans who don’t have their own reliable means of transportation to get to and from their appointments without cost. The United Methodist Community Center maintains a three-vehicle fleet of 8 to 9-passenger vans that can safely veterans to their doctor and hospital appointments on time and get them back home(including 1 that is handicap accessible). We understand how important it is to have reliable transportation, and how difficult it can be to keep a vehicle running and road-safe. That’s why we’ve employed this program to transport veterans safely and reliably until they’re able to get back on their feet and purchase their own transportation.
United Methodist Community Center employs WorkKeys, a job skills assessment system, to measure an individual’s real-world skills. Work- Keys generates computer-based assignments for remedial education that are designed to the individual, and tracks the individual’s success. This program helps Veterans build the skills in math, reading, business writing, soft skills among other important skills they would need to get employment.
